I finally got to go up to The View From The Shard on Halloween for a party sponsored by Crystal Head vodka.

The fun experience began right the way from when we hopped into the lift. The swanky mirrored elevators aren’t for the faint-hearted. They go so fast your ears might pop and the video ceilings might make you feel a little woozy. But I loved it.
Ghoulish characters (staff with face paint on) greeted us and led us over the illustrated floors to the security area. It’s just like an airport with body and luggage scanners to ensure the safety of the tallest building in Western Europe.

Once through security they have funny artwork which depicts celebs dead and alive – Princess Diana, Amy Winehouse, Emma Watson, Borat, Prince Harry, etc – having a fun swim in the River Thames.

The views were spectacular from floors 69 and 72. After taking in the sights of attractions such as Tower Bridge and St Paul’s Cathedral from the upper deck – which is outside and very windy at night – we went down a few levels to enjoy the music.

The night included a performance from Wicked the musical’s Elphaba (Emma Hatton). She blew us away by singing Defying Gravity straight after her regular theatre performance at the Apollo Victoria that evening.
In our goodie bags we got a Wicked mouse mat which also doubles up as a 2015 calendar, plus a View From The Shard pencil and Oyster
Card holder.

Have you ever been to The View From The Shard? Let me know!
