LK Bennett’s LBD event recently made me realise party season truly is upon us.
Halloween, followed by my birthday in November then plenty of Christmas shindigs. So we went to check out the six capsule collection frocks the brand is putting out there to get us in the mood for the festive period.
We loved the Star and Acacia dresses but found ourselves obsessed with the aurora print which can be found around the store on other pieces outside of the collection.
The Brook Street branch decorated the displays with giant silver and gold disco balls and blew up oversized balloons for the launch. Cate Underwood provided tunes on the decks.
Alongside us when we arrived was former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh, who made good use of the photobooth like my sister Bianca and I.
We perused the rails with a Glitterball drink (Nyetimber English Sparkling wine) in hand and enjoyed seabass ceviche with sweet potato in oyster shells plus chicken liver parfait on toasted brioche with caramelised figs.
The bar on the lower floor offered some great cocktails including the Little Black Martini (Sipsmith Barley Vodka and espresso) and The Little Black magic (Sipsmith Vintage Sloe Gin and fresh berries).
Donna Air and The X Factor 2014 reject Lizzy Pattison (Robert’s sister) came along for some after-hours shopping and star of new ITVBe show Ladies of London, Noelle Reno, was there too.
We’d met before as I was a guest of hers at Sandown Races earlier this summer where she was a guest judge of the best dressed competition (that’s human AND horse).
There I met Sir Alex Ferguson who refused to take pose for more than one picture so made me and another journalist squeeze into one together with him and send it to each other!
It led to funny discussion with Noelle on the way home about the ‘perfect way’ for a star to tell someone to get lost with being rude.
Do you think there’s a good way for famous people do this? Let me know!
