As A Dolphin Tale 2 prepares for release in the UK, I was privileged enough to hit the red (or shall I say blue) carpet in Los Angeles recently where it came out earlier.
Stars including Ashley Judd and Harry Connick Jr did the rounds with media as well as a bunch of young stars only your niece might recognise.
Although it was a big operation on the closed-down streets of Westwood, California where fans waited across the road from the Regency Theatre, I was surprised at how noise management was handled so well.
It may be an odd thing to point out but with of cars dropping stars off, I didn’t even notice when Ashley and Harry made their entrance until they were right underneath me on the carpet.
Although in the grand scheme of things people at the nearby Starbucks could easily enjoy their coffee without being disturbed, at the same time when holding recording equipment up to celebs’ mouths and talking to them you really have to listen up closely.
Unlike the media desperate to talk to them, the likes of Austin Stowell, Bethany Hamilton and Cozi Zuehlsdorff were so cool calm and collected, you wouldn’t find them shouting to be heard.
Sadly Morgan Freeman, who is in the sequel flick, couldn’t make it to the screening and instead of a bunch of stars who the actors don’t even know showing up to be papped like most premieres, a group of inspiration people with prosthetic limbs (like dolphin Winter in the movie) attended as guest instead.
Lovely. How un-Hollywood for a change!
