2014 was my first experience at South West Four Festival and it all took place on London’s Clapham Common.
The weather pulled through for us on the bank holiday weekend so revelers could enjoy acts including Eric Prydz, Deadmau5, Simian Mobile Disco and of course Swedish house sensation Alesso over two days.
With competition from Creamfields in Cheshire, hosting a massive 12 stages, it was good to see a nice turnout for South West Four, named after its SW4 postcode.
All of the tents we visited to see the likes of Sasha and Magda perform were spilling out into the main arena.
We were even lucky enough to bump into the latter in the VIP area as she went in search of a post-performance drink. Despite the fact that we were mingling with Aurelio Fernandez, a Spanish music magazine friend I’d made earlier this summer at We Are Festival, the Polish star wasn’t afraid to interrupt and compliment my friend Mayling on her gorgeous blue TopShop jumpsuit.
Afterwards she dived in for hugs with Aurelio after hearing he didn’t get the chance the interview her previously, which made him a very happy man indeed.
Alesso was brilliant on the main stage. I didn’t get to catch him at V Festival last weekend so this made up for it. Everyone was singing and waving along to his popular tune I Lose Myself Tonight.
